Nearing playoff berth, Brewers activate Hoskins

Veteran first baseman Rhys Hoskins, who missed 57 games with a sprained left thumb, was reinstated by the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday, and though he did not start in a 5-4 loss to the Texas Rangers, he did appear as a pinch hitter in the sixth inning.
